What We Do

Community Media

PDT believes that access to information is a prerequisite for the fulfillment of other human rights. In under served rural communities such as those targeted by the organisation, access to information has from time immemorial been cited as one of the root causes of poor citizen participation and engagement. readmore

Peace Building, Conflict Resolution & Peaceful coexistence

In partnership with the Ecumenical Churches Leaders Forum of Zimbabwe (ECLZ), PDT has and continues to train duty bearers in managing conflict within their communities. PDT believes that for development to be sustainable, conflict and change in communities should be managed

Democracy, Human Rights & Governance

Healthy democracies require that citizens actively participate in local governance including contributing in planning and implementation processes as well as monitoring government performance.PDT has been pursuing initiatives under this thematic area aimed at enhancing good governance and democracy within Plumtree readmore

Environmental Conservation, Climate change awareness

At the center of PDT’s climate change interventions is access to information. PDT is convinced that one of the root causes of the community’s inability to respond promptly and appropriately to climate change is lack of access to relevant information which limits their capacity to basic crucial adaptation strategies and risk reduction measures. Although the organization currently does not have an exclusive project under the above thematic area, it uses off-air radio and its Bulk SMS and Social Media Platforms to share relevant information with communities of concern regards climate change.

Empowerment of vulnerable groups

PDT believes that to stimulate development which is truly sustainable in communities, women must be empowered to participate in all aspects of decision-making processes within communities through gender mainstreaming in development policy-making.PDT is working with grass root women and communities to eliminate oppressive and unfair cultural practices. readmore

Youth Development & Youth Empowerment

PDT recognizes the the involvement of young men and women in participatory decision-making and development processes as vital to achieving sustainable human development. PDT supports the capacity development of young people and the development of youth caucuses in government, parliament and other bodies.
